| Establish
Your Identify |
On
the Main Chat Window there are two boxes, Your Name
and Your Profile. Enter your name in the first
box and an optional profile in the second box. Your profile
can include links to Web pages in the form http://www.address.com
and links to e-mail addresses in the form mailto:name@address.com |
| Enter
a Chat Room |
Click
a room name to see the list of people in the room. Click
the Enter Room button to enter a room. |
| Start
Chatting |
Type
your chat messages in the space at the bottom of the chat
room window and press the Enter key to send your message. |
| Launch
a Private Chat |
Once
you're in a chat room, double click a name to launch a
private chat session with any visitor in the room. |

| Entrance
Alerts |
When
"Entrance alerts" are turned on, the name and
profile of each new visitor that enters the room automatically
will be displayed in your chat room window. The entrance
alerts feature is turned on by default.
To turn entrance alerts off, choose the "Options"
menu item in the main lobby, then select "Entrance
alerts." Select it again to turn it back on. To change
this option for a particular room, choose the "Options"
menu item from within the room, then select "Entrance
alerts." |
| Audio
and Private Chat Alerts |
If
you have "Audio and Private Chat Alerts" turned
on and "Entrance Alerts" turned on, you will
hear an audio alert when a new visitor enters a chat room
and will be able to receive private chat requests from
other visitors. The audio and private chat request alerts
feature is turned on by default.
To turn Audio and Private Chat Alerts off, choose the
"Options" menu item in the main lobby, then
select "Audio and Private Chat Alerts." Select
it again to turn it back on. To change this option for
a particular room, choose the "Options" menu
item from within the room, then select "Audio and
Private Chat Alerts." |

Count Changes |
Select
this menu item to have the room count displayed whenever
someone enters or leaves the room. Select it again to
turn off the feature. This feature is turned on by default |
| Web
Touring |
Select
this menu item to have Web addresses which appears in
chat messages opened automatically in a Web browser window.
Select it again to turn off the feature. This feature
is turned off by default. |

(chat room window only) |
Send
Private Chat
Request to name |
You
can send a chat request to any visitor in a room. To send
the request to the visitor, click on the visitor's name
from within the chat room, choose the "People"
menu item, then select "Send private chat request
to visitor." The visitor must have "Audio and
Private Chat Alerts" turned on to receive your request.
Your request will appear in the visitor's chat room window
along with an audio alert. |
| Ignore
name |
To
Ignore someone, click once on the name of the visitor
you want to Ignore, then select this menu item.
All chat messages and private chat requests from that
person will be ignored. |

name |
To
Unignore someone you're ignoring, click once on
the name of the visitor you want to Unignore, then
select this menu item. |

Count |
Select
this menu item to display the count of people in the room. |
